When the World Leaves You Thirsty

31dayswjesus

“Please, sir,” the woman said, “give me this water! Then I’ll never be thirsty again, and I won’t have to come here to get water.” John 4:15

Thirst.

When thirst isn’t quenched the human body becomes dehydrated. Dehydration leads to various degrees of complications.

  • Dry, sticky mouth
  • Fatigue
  • Decreased urine output
  • Dry skin
  • Headache
  • Constipation
  • Dizziness

When dehydration worsens it leads to:

  • Extreme thirst
  • Irritability and confusion in adults
  • Very dry mouth, skin and mucous membranes
  • Lack of sweating
  • Little or no urination
  • Sunken eyes
  • Shriveled and dry skin that lacks elasticity
  • Low blood pressure
  • Rapid heartbeat
  • Rapid breathing
  • No tears when crying
  • Fever
  • In the most serious cases, delirium or unconsciousness

Imagine always being thirsty. Imagine never having your thirst quenched. Imagine a life of dehydration.

That is what my soul is without the water. Our spirit is dehydrated without living water.

Now imagine a thirsty soul. Imagine a soul that cannot be quenched. Imagine a dehydrated spirit.

Our spirit is thirsty with out water. Our soul is dehydrated with out the living water.

Jesus you are my living water. You quenched my thirst for things of this world that only left me dry and wanting. You gave me water. You gave me life. You gave me you.
