Florence Nightingale once said, “Life is a hard fight, a struggle, a wrestling with the principle of evil, hand to hand, foot to foot. Every inch of the way is disputed.”
Do you live each day with that thought in your mind? Do you wrestle with evil every day? Do we fight it or comply with it? Do you even recognize evil?

I have come to realize that the enemy of my soul never relents. He will attack me moments after my child dies. He will stalk me in my quiet moments alone. He will use Christians to accuse me. He will use people I love to draw out my anger, jealousy, fear and selfishness.
He knows where I am weak. And he goes for it every time.
Satan is:
- My accuser: Rev. 12:10
- My adversary: 1 Pet. 5:8
- Disguised as an angel: 2 Cor 11:14
- My enemy: Mt. 12:39
- A liar: Jn. 8:44
- God of this world: 2 Cor. 4:4
- A murderer: Jn. 8:44
- A tempter: Mt. 4:3
- A thief: Jn. 10:10
He speaks lies to me like, “You don’t deserve this.” He whispers to my heart “Daniel is leading you in the wrong direction.” He uses my God-given emotions to warp and pervert my reactions so that I am ruled by self and not by the Holy Spirit. He uses Christians to accuse me.
Today I want to renew my acknowledgement that these attacks are real and they are happening right now. I want you to acknowledge that they are real and happening in your home and in your heart right now. That is my prayer for the day.
Lord God,
Please open our eyes to the presence of wickedness, evil and powers of darkness that want to infiltrate our heart. Give us awareness.
Give us hearts for truth and allow us to discern good from evil, right from wrong, from darkness and light.
