So this morning I hear a bunch of ruckus from Christians about gay weddings on the Grammy awards. I didn’t see it. I don’t even have a TV to see it.
But I want to take a moment to speak to Christians on this. If it has taken gay weddings to get you to see something is wrong with that culture, shame on you. The pop music culture is vile. Its been vile long before last night.
I am the first MTV generation. I was raised on the stuff. And honestly, the few times one of my old favorites has come on with my kids around, I’m embarrassed. I am embarrassed for them to know that I listened to songs about being “Like a Virgin”, “Hot for Teacher” or “Love in an Elevator.” It is vulgar. It is shameful. I’m not sure the likes of Rihanna and Beyonce’ have cleaned it up any.
From song lyrics, nakedness, and raunchy dance moves to the lifestyle of illicit sex, drugs and divorce it is shameful. And it grieves our Creator. Long before gay weddings were put on the Grammy Awards last night, Jesus’ heart was ripped out by the arrogance of sin.
So I guess my question today Christian, is why did you turn on The Grammys?
