When Someone is Missing from Your Table

The empty chair.

On this Thanksgiving Eve I am plagued by the empty seat at my table. All my children will be by my side, all expect one. I have been laying in my bed crying for the past hour. I have cried for all the mamas weeping over the empty chair.

As I prayed God showed me a different story.

I say to you that many will come from the east and the west, and will take their places at the feast with Abraham, Isaac and Jacob in the kingdom of heaven. -Jesus

I am the one missing.

I am the one missing from the table. I am the one who won’t won’t be home this Thanksgiving.

He is the one longing to fill my empty chair at his table.

Jesus said, “Don’t let your hearts be troubled. Trust in God. And trust in me. There are many rooms in my Father’s house. I would not tell you this if it were not true. I am going there to prepare a place for you.  After I go and prepare a place for you, I will come back. Then I will take you to be with me so that you may be where I am.  You know the way to the place where I am going.” John 14:1-4

Then I saw an angel standing in the sun. The angel called with a loud voice to all the birds flying in the sky, “Come together for the great feast of God. Rev. 19:17
