There was also a prophet, Anna, the daughter of Penuel, of the tribe of Asher. She was very old; she had lived with her husband seven years after her marriage, and then then was a widow until she was eighty-four. She never left the temple but worshiped night and day, fasting and praying. Coming up to them at that very moment, she gave thanks to God and spoke about the child to all who were looking forward to the redemption of Jerusalem. Luke 2:36-38
Anna was a prophet. I am a blogger.
Anna was very old. I am not so old.
She was a widow. I am wife and mother.
She lived in the temple. I live in a regular house.
She worshiped night and day, fasting and praying. I want that heart of worship.
Anna dedicated her life to worship. In my busyness, in my family life, in my regular house, Jesus please grow in me a heart of worship like hers. I want to be just as dedicated to you.
From her worship, praise spilled out. From her praise, she spoke a message of hope. I want to be as genuinely passionate for you as Anna was. I want the word of redemption to just spill out of me like it did her.
That’s my prayer today Jesus.
I worship you, the Messiah, Immanuel, my Savior and Lord over death. I worship you.
