From Survival to Revival Here We Come!

maxresdefault

Won’t you revive us again,
so your people can rejoice in you?

Psalm 85: 6

For the past 5 years an ever-growing group of women from my church attend the Women of Faith conference. This year’s theme, From Survival to Revival, was appointed for me. Oh, who’m I kidding, there’s a lot of us who are stuck in the survival stage of life.

For me its lingering grief. Most days I struggle to get out of bed. I dread leaving the house and everyday responsibilities seem like mountains to climb.

For you it could be a floundering career, a dull marriage, an addicted child, financial strain, guilt, depression… on and on.

We forget about revival because we are just happy to survive.

But here’s the thing, Jesus leaves you in better shape than when he found you. Jesus gives life. Jesus resurrects. Jesus heals, restores, rebuilds and redeems… if we let him.

So here’s what I want to do. I want to start a revival Right here.

This one is all about class participation girls. In the comments section post your struggle. What’s making it hard for you to survive?

Then, this is the really important part, someone leave a scripture message that speaks truth and hope to someone else’s struggle. We don’t have to go to a conference to find revival. We just have to go to the Word of God.

Ready. Set. GO!

Isaiah 41:10: “Don’t be afraid, for I am with you. Don’t be discouraged, for I am your God. I will strengthen you and help you. I will hold you up with my victorious right hand” (NLT).

Romans 15:13: “May the God of hope fill you with all joy and peace as you trust in Him, so that you may overflow with hope by the power of the Holy Spirit.”

Oh man… overflow with hope by the power of the Holy Spirit. If that can’t get me out of bed in the morning I don’t know what will.

      James 1:2-4

      New International Version (NIV)
      Trials and Temptations

2 Consider it pure joy, my brothers and sisters,[a] whenever you face trials of many kinds, 3 because you know that the testing of your faith produces perseverance. 4 Let perseverance finish its work so that you may be mature and complete, not lacking anything.

My struggle is twofold- dealing with children’s health issues and following God’s plan for my husband and I. The path is very clearly laid out, it is different than what we planned and I don’t really like it.

But blessed are those who trust in the Lord
and have made the Lord their hope and confidence.
They are like trees planted along a riverbank,
with roots that reach deep into the water.
Such trees are not bothered by the heat
or worried by long months of drought.
      Their leaves stay green,
and they never stop producing fruit.
      Jeremiah 17:7-8

    Joyful are people of integrity,
who follow the instructions of the Lord.
Joyful are those who obey his laws
and search for him with all their hearts…
    I will obey your decrees.
Please don’t give up on me!
    ps 119:1,8

I can only choose one? Yikes.
I would say what cripples me the most is my inability to let God handle difficult people and situations with a Godly attitude.

My top struggles…I feel like there’s so many! Obeying God if I’m honest-because I doubt & anaylize everything-even God – even though I know his thoughts and plans are perfect-mine aren’t. I’m scared of the unknown waters He can see but I can’t. The second is struggling with patience in all areas of my life. Mainly my kids and loving someone even though I’m not shown it by them. So hard.

      Be good to your servant,
that I may live and obey your word.
      Open my eyes to see
the wonderful truths in your instructions. Ps 119:17-18

My biggest struggle right now is letting go and letting God heal me of past hurts and traumas, some of which I really didn’t realize I had until very recently. Not coping with past abuse has really hurt my relationships and I’m scared and don’t really know HOW to cope now that I realize they are there. I’m scared of getting hurt again, so I put up a wall (which is SO not like me). Never considered myself an anxious person until the last couple of months, but I SO am.Pray that God will tear down those walls and just help me trust Him.

      Isaiah 54:1

“Shout for joy, O barren one, you who have borne no child; Break forth into joyful shouting and cry aloud, you who have not travailed; For the sons of the desolate one will be more numerous Than the sons of the married woman,” says the LORD.

      Psalms 119:81-83

My soul languishes for Your salvation; I wait for Your word. My eyes fail with longing for Your word, While I say, “When will You comfort me?” Though I have become like a wineskin in the smoke, I do not forget Your statutes.

So if the old way, which has been replaced, was glorious, how much more glorious is the new, which remains forever!

Since this new way gives us such confidence, we can be very bold. 2 Cor. 3:11-12
