Upside down is putting it nicely. We have had a pandemic, shut downs, job loss, violence, riots and political hostility. We are a separated, masked and divided people.
The church is trying to keep up with the needs of the hungry, the confused, the sick, the hurting. Some of us feel like we are failing miserably.
And Jesus said, “Feed my sheep.”
But Lord, they need food. They need rent paid. They can’t visit loved ones. They need us to do something.
And Jesus said, “Feed my sheep.”
But they are seeing violence and injustice. They are angry. They want answers. They want change.
And Jesus said, “Feed my sheep.“
But how do we fix it?
Then Jesus declared, “I am the bread of life. Whoever comes to me will never go hungry, and whoever believes in me will never be thirsty.”
When the world is upside down, remember, it isn’t ours to fix. It’s his.
For God so loved the world that he gave his one and only Son, that whoever believes in him shall not perish but have eternal life.
