When I Can’t Do Anything Right

31dayswjesus

But Jesus, aware of this, replied, “Why criticize this woman for doing such a good thing to me? Mt. 26:10

Ever felt like nothing you do is right.

Your boss blamed you for someone else’s mistake. Your neighbor is mad because your dog pooped in his yard. Some old lady at church told you your kids obviously need more spankings. Your husband made a “joke” about the house always being a mess. Your kids don’t want to eat the dinner you barely got on the table, and your parents are dumping heaving doses of guilt because you don’t come home enough.

Yeah, that’s a day in the life of me.

What I hate about those days is that I start believing all the critics. I start buying into the lies. I start feeling like a loser and end up wanting to throw in the towel, walk away from every responsibility and find some people who actually appreciate me.

What I should start loving about those days is hearing Jesus say to my boo section, “Why criticize this woman for doing such a good thing to me?”

What I better make sure before those days is that I am doing good things to him.

Then I can resist the critics. I can bear up under the pressure. I can believe the truth that I am OK because I’m standing behind the best defense- Jesus.
