With this news, strengthen those who have tired hands,
and encourage those who have weak knees. Isaiah 35:3
I am tired. I don’t want another problem to solve today. I don’t want another duty on the list. I cannot handle another responsibility. Too much stuff and too little me. All these duties wear me out. I feel like there is ping-pong match in my brains.
Ever feel like that?
Maybe you feel like that right now.
You are tired, overwhelmed and over done. You are longing for the days that you felt tapped in and connected to the world. Now you feel like hiding from it.
But more, you are longing for the days you felt tapped in and connected to God. You have lost something. You have lost your intimacy with God.
So what do you do when you are burned out, broken down and spiritually exhausted?
Amputate
Cut off the gang green. There are things on that list that don’t need to be there. There are duties you have claimed that someone else would be better for. There are duties on your roster that God never put there. Start cutting all the rotten parts off.
Pray
Through the amputation process pray that what gets cut is what God picks and pray that what stays is what God picks. Pray for him to now order you and order your days. Pray and talk to Father. Tell him everything.
Worship
There is nothing more powerful and centering than making personal time to worship your One And Only. Whether it is in the car for your morning commute or a walk on your lunch break or rocking your baby and singing praise. Worship personally. Worship intentionally.
But those who trust in the Eternal One will regain their strength.
They will soar on wings as eagles.
They will run—never winded, never weary.
They will walk—never tired, never faint. Isaiah 40:31
