When this song comes on don’t you just want to dance.. or at least bop a little in your seat. I mean it’s happy right?
I like being happy. I like being around happy people. But I have noticed something. Not everyone is happy. Not every Christian is happy.
So has made me wonder, why are so many Christians unhappy? Shouldn’t we be the happiest people around? Shouldn’t our happiness be our testimony. Our happiness should be our light and salt.
It is time to starting living like we are happy. Be happy even though:
People are mean to you.
God blesses you when people mock you and persecute you and lie about you and say all sorts of evil things against you because you are my followers. Be happy about it! Be very glad! For a great reward awaits you in heaven. And remember, the ancient prophets were persecuted in the same way. Mt. 5:11-12
You are grieving.
And now, dear brothers and sisters, we want you to know what will happen to the believers who have died so you will not grieve like people who have no hope. For since we believe that Jesus died and was raised to life again, we also believe that when Jesus returns, God will bring back with him the believers who have died. 1 Thes. 4:13-14
You are enduring trials.
We can rejoice, too, when we run into problems and trials, for we know that they help us develop endurance. Rom 5:3
You are facing death.
I trust that my life will bring honor to Christ, whether I live or die. For to me, living means living for Christ, and dying is even better. Phil. 1:20-21
Now go… be happy.
